- You retain complete ownership of all documents, URLs, notes, and research content you process.
- If you use personal AI model API keys (BYOK with Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, or Groq), you are directly responsible for token fees from that third-party provider.
- We provide our Services on an as-is basis with clear fair-use rules to protect the platform against abuse.
1. Agreement to terms
These Terms of Service constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Chiko AI concerning your access to and use of our website, dashboard, and browser extension (the 'Services').
By accessing our Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use immediately.
2. Intellectual property and your research data
Chiko AI owns all software, algorithms, trademarks, visual designs, and documentation comprising the Services.
Your Content: You retain full ownership of all research papers, notes, extracted figures, and queries you create or import. We do not claim ownership over your research data and do not use private user data to train commercial foundation models.
3. Bring-Your-Own-Key (BYOK) terms
You may optionally enter your personal third-party AI provider credentials for supported providers (Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, or Groq).
You acknowledge that you are directly responsible for all token fees, account quotas, and compliance rules imposed by the respective third-party provider. Your keys are encrypted at rest and are never sold or used for training.
4. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellations
Chiko AI provides free tiers and premium plans (Pro and Extra). Paid subscriptions grant access to managed AI models, higher token caps, multimodal PDF and chart extraction, and priority processing queues.
Subscriptions renew automatically each month or year unless canceled. You can cancel your subscription at any time with one click in your account settings, retaining paid access until your current billing period ends.
5. Prohibited activities
You agree not to reverse engineer or decompile any part of the Services, bypass system rate limits or quotas, introduce malicious code, or use our extension to harvest personal data in violation of third-party privacy rights or terms.
6. Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability
The Services are provided on an 'as-is' and 'as-available' basis. Chiko AI provides source-anchored synthesis for research assistance, but we make no guarantee regarding the absolute accuracy of machine-generated insights or external web text.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chiko AI will not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability is limited to the amount paid by you to us in the six months prior to any claim.
